The Fraccaroli family has been producing wine since the 18th century.
In the past, it was made directly in the underground cellar of the villas in Valpolicella. The one in Casa Fraccaroli has become today the Castrum Wine Bar & Bistrò.
The underground part of the rest of the estate instead, houses the new winery built in the ‘80s by Paolo Borghetti, the father of Giampiero Borghetti.
From father to son
Promoter of the Valpolicella area, Paolo set up his own line of wines creating two brands: Le 4 Vigne (The 4 vineyards) and I Tre Santi (The three saints).
The son of Giampiero Borghetti, a direct descendant of the Fraccaroli family, after 25 years of working abroad, returns to the family home and continues the winemaking activity using traditional methods with the support of modern technology.
And revives the tradition by making wine in the winery of Villa Fraccaroli, the current location of Castrum Relais.
The Giampiero Borghetti winery dedicates the CASTRUM wine collection to the works of the sculptor Innocenzo Fraccaroli: a premium line of 5 Valpolicella DOC wines with exclusive labels inspired by the artist’s most beautiful sculptures and 1 pure IGT Corvina.
You can find this wine collection only at Castrum.
